PREPARE YOUR

PALATE FOR

THE GOOD STUFF

ROB ROY

  • 2 measures of Loch Shiel Maritime Blend
  • 1 measure of sweet vermouth
  • A dash of bitters
  • A maraschino cherry

A variation on the classic Manhattan cocktail, the Rob Roy is always made with Scotch and is named in honour of Jacobite folk hero and outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor. Mix the liquid ingredients well with ice in a shaker, strain into a cocktail glass and add the cherry to serve.

  • BLOOD AND SAND

  • 1 measure of Loch Shiel Maritime Blend
  • 1 measure of sweet vermouth
  • 1 measure of cherry liqueur
  • 1 measure of blood orange juice

Invented in the roaring 20s to promote a bullfighting movie of the same name, the Blood & Sand is rarely encountered but difficult to resist. Simply add all the ingredients to a shaker and add ice, then shake thoroughly and strain into a cocktail glass. Ole!

BOBBY BURNS

  • 2 measures of Loch Shiel Maritime Blend
  • 1 measure of sweet vermouth
  • A dash of Benedictine liqueur
  • A lemon peel

A twist on the Rob Roy, the Bobby Burns is named in honour of Scotland’s revered poet, and is often enjoyed on Burns Night. Add all three liquid ingredients to a shaker with ice, squeeze the lemon peel into it and shake well before straining into a glass and garnishing with the peel.

  • RUSTY NAIL

  • 2 measures of Loch Shiel Maritime Blend
  • 1 measure of Drambuie

Reputed to be a favourite of the notorious Rat Pack, the Rusty Nail was extremely popular in the swinging sixties and remains a reliable standard to this day due to its simplicity. Just add the two measures together in a glass with ice and mix. Crooning optional.
